  2. I always thought WeeMees looked funny. It’s the proportions, you see? If a human was assembled the same way they’re look even funnier though. So how does the WeeMee get away with it. They kind of look cute and innocent BUT swap the illustrations for real-life images and suddenly it’s creepy. A cartoon can not have a nose, eyebrows or fingers and it’s head can make up nearly half it’s entire height… but a person? No chance!
Make your own WeeMee here.

  3. So happy to be back walking again. Desperately needing to lose some weight and get fit. It’s always an added bonus when it’s snowy. John and I made snow angels.

  4. I made these… I’m not proud of myself.

PROJECT 01Duration: 3 months & 6 days (10/08/2011 to16/11/2011)Description:25 friends are each given a wee tile with a printed image on it and asked to create a copy of it by painting the tiny canvas they were supplied with. Together all the completed tiles create one image. It’s the cover image for Withnail & I.Artists:1st row (left-right): Ashling Carroll, Kevin Smith, Ronan McMacken, Ian Beveridge, Martin Montgomery. 2nd row (left-right): David Sprott,  Steve Koren,  Jennifer Fairgrieve, Amanda Li,  John Connelly. 3rd row (left-right): Susie Robertson, Matt McKenna, Adam, Emma Fairgrieve, Martin McMenemy. 4th row (left-right): Steven Toner, Andrew Nicolson, Thomas Gallacher, Miriam Anderson, Carol Brannan. 5th row (left-right): John Maguire,  Sharon Baird, Martin McGookin, Callum Leggat, Snuffs McShuggy.Notes:The project took about four months from distributing all the tiles and receiving them back again all complete and looking great! There were a few hiccups though. I accidentally put one of the tiles through the washing machine (by forgetting it was in a pocket of something needing washed). Amazingly the artist did it all over again. One tile was lost in the post and the artist wasn’t prepared to resubmit so a last minute artist was brought in to save the day. The range of skills and experience presented in this painting is incredible and the differences in style and approach make it an incredible piece to look at. Special thanks goes out to Stuart Nicolson for building a custom frame for the piece which not only displays the full image but also isolates each tile as a separate work of art.

Started up something called “Collaborate projects” about a year and a half ago… one completed project so far, but look at it. It’s just amazing!

  6. Here’s a photo my good friend Cary Norton took of me a few years ago when I grow a beard with lots of strangers and then met up with a chunk of them in Nashville for a pissup.
“In 2007 & 2009 I grew a beard and documented it on the internet with hundreds of other people. It was a four-month endeavor during which we were not to shave/trim our facial hair, and post a minimum of one photo of oursleves per week (though, one per day was, you know, encouraged). It’s a very difficult phenomenon to explain. To try to understand it slightly more, you could visit the Whiskerino website.
At the end of the 2009 Whiskerino, there was a party in Nashville, and I decided to shoot up all the rest of my Polaroid 4x5 film (and some sheet film) making portraits of as many of my fellow beard-growers as I could. I ended up shooting around 100 portraits in a couple of hours. Here are most of those, in no particular order (and basically not edited—pardon the dust and Newton rings).”

  7. I have no idea why I painted these… but it was fun. Sure some of them are shite. There’s a couple in here that I’m really REALLY proud of though. I have great friends.

  10. This post goes out to all you Glasgow followers who just love “True Scottish Indie Rock”. The best band in the city is playing Audio on the 7th of December (RSVP here).
It’s going to be an incredible night and, well, the poster has a photo of Gary Glitter and the band… if that doesn’t spell Christmas night out I don’t know what does!

Spreading the word on a zero budget is difficult. You find yourself spending all night on Twitter following people; using Facebook to leave messages on various club walls; commenting on YouTube clips and blog posts; giving interviews online and taking photos of bottles to send to websites in the hope that they feature you - Andrew Nicolson, Co-founder of Whisky Blender

Words of wisdom?

Does this make me famous? Wish my quote was better.

  14. So, why are the funniest people the most depressed?

“Humor is a common defense mechanism. Some funny people like to make themselves and others laugh because it keeps them from crying. It distracts people from the real issues and pokes fun at things to minimize the impact. Albeit temporarily.”

    I don’t think anyone thinks I’m funny.

So, while here, eloping in Scotland, we have had the most amazing hosts in @revgoomba and @musicalemma1. Seriously could not have had a more welcoming and family-like set of people if we’d tried. An extra bonus is that Drew was over the top gracious to surprise is with our own blend called “Married in Glasgow”. (Thank you guys so much!)

It was nothing… really.
